Warm Hands Warm Hearts Project

Leather worker Sheila Cailleau is offering free “Kits and Mitt” making workshops at C2 Centre for Craft. Warm Hands, Warm Hearts is about recycling donated leather and fur into cozy and practical mittens using volunteer labour. Mittens made as part of this workshop are donated to those in need via our colleagues at Bear Clan.

The workshops will happen over two weeks (6 hours total). In the first session, participants will learn how to trace and cut out pattern pieces from disassembled leather and fur coats and assemble them into mitten kits. In the second session, participants will learn the skills needed to make mittens that will be donated to those in need once they are completed. Participants must sign up for and attend both weeks. Participants can use the skills they learn to make their own mittens in the future, if desired!

The workshops will take place at the C2 Centre for Craft, 1-329 Cumberland Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba. There are two-time options to choose from – one in July, and one in August. All workshop dates run from 12:30-3:30.

Please sign up below. In the event, you are not able to make it, let us know asap so we can pass your spot on to someone on the waiting list. Space is limited, We will email you to confirm your spot in advance of the workshop. Google Forms doesn’t generate an auto-reply, so a human will be in touch during our office hours.
