The Manitoba Craft Council is excited to present the Linen & Lace Annual Fundraising Auction in support of craft and its makers in Manitoba. Traditionally, spring is a time for the MCC to celebrate the partnership that gave rise to the C2 Centre for Craft. Each year, friends of the MCC gather at an event thematically inspired by the anniversary gift connected with that year: paper in 2017, cotton in 2018, leather in 2019, a break for COVID19, copper in 2023, and now Linen & Lace in 2024.

As always, CRAFT and CRAFTSPEOPLE will be firmly in the spotlight: a silent auction of fine, contemporary craft will take centre stage. Set in the beautiful Shirley Richardson Craft Gallery in the C2 Centre for Craft, donated artworks will be professionally displayed and their makers will be celebrated.

The evening will include a silent auction of the displayed artworks, food, drink, and activities showcasing Manitoba’s linen and lace workers for members of Manitoba’s business, media, and arts communities. The event will illustrate the vitality of craft in Manitoba, highlight MCC supporters, and celebrate the artistic talent and passion within our community. It will also illustrate the value we place on local makers and business-owners, and the vitality and warmth of our community.

We are seeking donations of high quality, handmade artworks for the auction. We would especially welcome donations that play with the Linen & Lace theme, but that is not essential. To donate work, please fill out the Google Form HERE.

You will be asked to provide basic contact information, a description of the work to be donated, a minimum starting bid ($25 and higher), a short bio, and an image of your work to be used for promotional purposes.

Due to space limitations, we will only be accepting a limited number of donations. Auction donations will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis until capacity is reached. Artists may choose to donate 50, 75 or 100% of the proceeds of the sale of their work at auction. Donating artists will receive one ticket to the fundraiser. Any artwork that is not purchased at the event will be returned to the artist.
