Amy Karlinsky has engaged with arts, ideas, makers, and audiences for many years. She teaches sessionally at the School of Art., UM, and has curated for The WAG and St.John’s College; her art reviews have appeared in Border Crossings, Canadian Art, Blackflash, C Magazine, Galleries West and elsewhere; she was the arts critic for the Winnipeg Free Press. Amy has contributed to the Manitoba Visual Arts curriculum, given keynote addresses for the Manitoba Association of Art Educators for SAG and the Wendy Wersch Memorial Lecture. She has led arts workshops , taught art through the K – 12 public system and participated in multiple arts juries. She has served on the Boards of MAWA, The Manitoba Arts Council and mentored for MAWA and Urban Shaman.
An unabashed poor knitter, she is in awe of the beauty, depth, meaning and power which work in the arts provides.
