Craft + Craft Beer: Whimsical Wonder Wall Hangings with Miriam Delos Santos at Sookram’s Brewing Co

Workshop Description:
Join the Manitoba Craft Council and Sookram’s Brewing Co for Craft + Craft Beer!
Learn to create a tactile and whimsical ruffled art piece that you can hang on your wall to look at and bring you joy with Miriam Delos Santos of Hello Darling!
Artist’s choice to choose your own light or dark adventure.
This workshop will teach you how to used saved pieces of “scrap” and hand stitch them into ruffles and felt, creating a new beautiful visual. Participants will make their own ruffles using the studio deadstock and fun organza scraps etc. I will teach you how to place and stitch them on to the felt and glued down to poster board for hanging on the wall if desired. Add additional fun and depth with fishing wire and pompoms, or other doodads brought from Hello Darling’s studio tickle trunk. The intention is PLAY! Layer all the things! Use what we have and your imagination to create something beautiful that is all yours.
All attendees will receive a complimentary flight of beer from Sookram’s. Select four 5oz pours of your favorite beers or try a variety of new ones. There are non-alcoholic options available including non-alcoholic beer.
Sookram’s experienced staff will be available to answer questions about making small batch specialty craft beers. Sookrams’ full beer selection will be available for purchase during Craft + Craft beer in addition to the complimentary flight of beer.
About the Instructor
Miriam Delos Santos is the designer and owner of Hello Darling Co., a local small business specializing in inclusive women’s accessories and fashion. Proudly a second generation Filipina from immigrant parents who started their own entrepreneurial business back in the 1980s and paved the path.
From the careful curation of textiles, mostly deadstock and remnant fabrics, to the design and production, the process is proudly all done in a studio in Winnipeg Manitoba. Miriam also participates with local student internships and workshops, panels empowering women in business, fashion school lectures and believes in community support, visibility and dedication to ones craft.
