About Manitoba Craft Council:
The Manitoba Craft Council is for people who love contemporary craft: professional artists and artisans, collectors and connoisseurs, DIYers and armchair enthusiasts. It’s for people who value the originality and quality of the handmade, who find meaning in making. It’s for the dreamers and schemers who seek to reinterpret the material and cultural traditions of the past through a contemporary lens. It’s for people who have to forge, carve, weave, fold, sculpt, and knit. And for their friends and supporters. It’s for you. See, smell, touch, explore the myriad expressions of contemporary craft in Manitoba, and be part of a community that is shaped, motivated, and defined by its love of craft.
About Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba:
Arts AccessAbility Network Manitoba is a regional not-for-profit artist-run charitable organization dedicated to the full inclusion of artists and audiences with disabilities into all facets of the arts community. Artists with disabilities encounter barriers everyday – structural obstacles, physical disadvantages or the attitudinal barriers of others. It’s hard for a professional artist to practice their art in a world that’s not accessible. AANM believes disability informs and enriches an artist’s creative expression as well as brings new perspective to the world we share. Without sentimentality or stereotype, authentic creations showing their challenges enable those artists to contribute to society by reducing social exclusion, ending isolation, confronting, disrupting, and reshaping our world.
