Space for Rent in Arts Focused Building
329 Cumberland (the Meet your Makers building on Cumberland) is delighted to support the arts community by focusing on providing safe and beautiful spaces to creative organizations, artists, and makers. We currently have two spaces coming up for rent which were formerly MAWA and Arts Accessibility Network MB. We congratulate MAWA and AANM on their shift to the new Market Lands construction but will miss them dearly.
Space 1
A light filled 2047 square foot unit on the second floor will be available from October 1st 2026. This space features hardwood floors, a kitchen area, a storage area, an office area, direct access to freight elevator/loading dock, and access to shared bathrooms on the same floor. There are new windows on three sides of the unit, independent air conditioning, and an open floor plan.
We offer special rates for Arts groups, artists, and makers. The monthly rent is currently set for the space including common area costs is 2578 including GST. We prefer a two year lease. If you sign for longer lease we can negotiate better terms. If you have a proposal for the space please contact us.
Please note that there is an architecture firm directly below the space. Sound travels easily between the two levels so hammering etc. must be kept to a minimum. This is the reason for the reduced rental rate. If you are interested and think your organization or practise will fit with this space we invite you to get in touch. Many years ago this was a glass studio with annealing kilns. Venting for kilns is possible and would be accommodated.
This space will not be suitable for anyone doing video or sound work if sound isolation is an issue.
Space 2
This is currently the AANM gallery and office. This beautiful 225 square foot area is on the main floor of the building and has south facing windows. It is wheelchair accessible and though small, is the most visible of all the spaces in the building. It would be ideal for anyone wanting to show their work as it is easily accessed and has high visibility. It would make a great showroom or studio.
Rent for this space is a flat rate of $540 for a two year lease.
There are washrooms on the floor above and below, currently C2 allows AANM and their clients to use their washrooms on the same floor when accessibility concerns present. Should this be needed the prospective tenant would need to discuss this with C2 directly.
Building information
The building maintains a security system which allows 24/7 access to the building with fobs, buzzer system, and cameras. Tenants should have their own alarm contracts as needed. This is a wheelchair accessible building but the second floor does not have a wheelchair friendly elevator.
The adjacent parking lot also provides preferential rates for tenants and their clients.
Tenants are required to have commercial insurance and are responsible for their own security alarm systems.
The owners are members of the cultural community and endeavour to support artists, makers, and creative people by providing a safe, clean, and well-maintained building with a positive vibe.
